German meat house E. Jacobsen trusts Beanit® when adding vegan products to its portfolio

Beanit® and E. Jacobsen have come to an agreement for distribution partnership of Beanit® fava bean products in Germany. E. Jacobsen is a German meat house specialized in import and wholesale of premium meat with over 80 years of history. Now the company steps into a new phase in their long expanding story as they include vegan products in their portfolio. When doing so they rely on Beanit®.

“Including vegan products to our offering is about serving our clients better. And even more than that, it is about making our business future proof”, says Jan Tilsner, Sales Manager and Partner at Jacobsen.

When looking for a partnership E. Jacobsen assigned consultants to find prospects providing vegan products that are up to their standards. The consultants came back with 27 companies from all over the world. Out of that shortlist Beanit® was chosen to become the partner after fulfilling the strict criteria set by Jacobsen. More precisely, Jacobsen had four dimensions on their evaluation sheet, Tilsner tells.

“We were looking for a product which tastes delicious and is a pleasure to eat, is highest quality just like our premium meat, is healthy and nutrition rich, and doesn’t try to mimic meat. On our list the Beanit® fava bean products soon became the benchmark in all these dimensions for others to top. All in all, our standards are very high as our clients are used to receive premium products from us.”

Jacobsen is a wholsaler whose clients represent the biggest names in both, private and public sector foodservice business. With Beanit® on their list, Jacobsen wants to provide a more comprehensive offering to match the changing eating habits of the end consumer. “The plant-based eating has become mundane providing us new opportunities too. On the other hand, if we do not provide what the client is looking for, they will turn to someone else”, Tilsner puts it simple.

Export Manager of Beanit® Ville Viksten is delighted for the newly signed partnership:

”The partnership opens distribution channels for Beanit® in very prosperous German markets. Over 40% of Germans follow some kind of a diet emphasizing plant-based eating, which makes the market size enormous. But leaving the business aside, partnering with Jacobsen is truly inspiring as their story is a prime example of the ongoing food transition. If we at Beanit® can provide solutions for someone on that transition path, we have succeeded in something greater than just business.”
